Lobelia angulata ‘Treadwellii’ is a vigorous dense mat-forming perennial with small toothed-edge leaves. Ideal as a ground cover in semi-shaded areas and moderately wet conditions.

Small flowers appear from spring to autumn followed by purple-red berries.

Plant Biography

Originating in New Zealand, the Lobelia angulata grows in the wild in damp areas along stream sides on most of the islands up to 1300 m in altitude.

The plant is dioecious, having male flowers and female flowers on different plants, therefore not self fertile. Berries form only on female plants.
