Product descriptions and photos

We take all the necessary care to ensure that the descriptions, measurements, colours and prices on the website are correct, but due to technical limitations, variations may occur.

Also, because plants are in a constant state of growth, some plants might have variations in shape or size.

As far as possible, we try to take pictures of the actual specimens in our nursery, but where these are not available due to technical difficulties in taking a picture, we can send, on request, a picture of the actual specimen.

Indoor plants measurements

Indoor plants measurements

Sometimes, indoor plants are photographed with decorative pots for illustrative purposes only. Plants are shipped in plastic nursery pots, unless stated otherwise.

For indoor plants, the height is measured from the bottom of the pot to the tallest leaf/branch, therefore giving the total height including the pot. The dimensions of the plants are approximate and they may vary slightly between plants.

Outdoor plants

Outdoor plants

Due to seasonality, some plants have their photos showing flowers or leaves. However, if you order outside of their season, the plants you receive might not have flowers or leaves (deciduous plants).

For outdoor plants, the height of the plant is measured from the top of the pot to the tallest leaf, unless otherwise specified. The height of the pot is not included in the measurement of the plant, unless specified.

Root ball plants are measured from the top of the root ball to the tallest leaf, and only the horizontal diameter of the rootball is given.

Where a plant is described as “bare trunk” they are not potted and are delivered as unrooted trunks. This is mostly valid for Tree ferns that are sold as unrooted trunks.

Indoor decorative pots

Indoor decorative pots

Most indoor pots are measured at their widest point and total height. This may not always be the usable space for an indoor pot, due to design, manufacturing process and materials used.

Where possible, we list the “opening diameter” which would be the real opening size.

It’s recommended to use an approximate opening size when trying to fit a certain plant pot in a decorative pot. If unsure, please contact us before purchasing.

Outdoor pots

Outdoor pots are measured at their widest point, including the walls’ thickness.

When choosing the correct size of pot for your plant, you may need to consider root balls that are 10-20 cm smaller than the listed diameter.
