Plant Biography

Eucalyptus gunnii was one of the first Eucalyptus trees to be grown in the UK, and is also one of the largest and fastest growing.

Young leaves are formed rounded and clasp the stem attractively, which is a phase of growth that can be prolonged almost indefinitely by coppicing the stems annually.

Allowed the space and headroom, ‘Silverana’ grows to be a large, evergreen, open crowned tree with long, sickle shaped leaves and attractively mottled bark. Clusters of creamy white pompom flowers add to its interest in summer.
