Asparagus setaceus
Asparagus Fern
From: £10.95
A very elegant indoor plant with a fine lacy look, that can make an impact either in a plant stand or a hanging pot. When grouped with other plants, its intricate foliage will contrast with larger leafed plants.
Plant Biography
The Asparagus setaceus originates in Southern Africa and is not a true fern, though it resembles one. Lacy bright green foliage cascades over the pot’s edges and the plant will quickly fill the pot.
In the wild, the Asparagus fern grows as a climber, with the vines reaching sometimes up to 4 m in length. In cultivation, the plant grows really fast and dense, making it an ideal plant for plant parents what want to test their skills.

Care & Size Guidance
The Asparagus setaceus lives happily in a pot for very long time without the need to be repotted. When severely pot bound, repot in a pot larger by 1-2 cm or divide into 2 -3 clumps and propagate.
In summer, the Asparagus Fern will bear small white flowers, but they will not become the focus of attention.
Water only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. The plant is more resilient to neglect than one might think, therefore it’s always better to underwater rather than overwater. Mist with plain water every other day in summer to keep a lush green foliage.
Feed in spring and summer with a balanced organic fertiliser, according to the instructions on the label.
