Ravenea rivularis

Majesty Palm

A perfect feature plant in a conservatory or large indoor space, the Majesty Palm has an upright habit when young, making it an interesting alternative to the Kentia Palm.

Over time, the palm forms a stout grey trunk, slightly swollen at the bottom. The crown of large green leaves arches out gracefully, lending a touch of the tropics.

Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

As the Latin name suggests, these palms naturally occur along rivers and streams so they appreciate adequate moisture in the soil. That said, be careful not to let them sit in water, particularly during the colder months.

Although they can get large, keeping them in pots does slow down their growth.

Mist regularly if they are in a dry environment. Do not place them close to heat sources such as radiators as they do not like warm, dry air.

Responds well to regular feeding with a palm fertiliser from April to September.
