Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

Yucca gloriosa is a low-maintenance garden plant, ideal for sunny locations with well-drained soil. It typically grows 1.5-2.5 metres tall and wide, forming a striking clump of sword-shaped leaves. Mature plants produce tall flower spikes, reaching up to 2.5 meters, adorned with creamy white blooms in late summer.

This hardy plant thrives in dry, sandy, or rocky soils, making it perfect for coastal or arid gardens. Water sparingly, as overwatering can cause root rot. Yucca gloriosa is frost-tolerant and requires minimal feeding—an occasional dose of balanced fertiliser in spring suffices. Remove dead leaves and spent flower stalks to maintain its tidy appearance. It’s an excellent choice for xeriscaping or as a dramatic focal point in the landscape.
