Arachniodes simplicior ‘Variegata’
Variegated Eastern Holly Fern, Variegated Shield Fern
Native to woodland streams, cliff crevices and forested areas in Japan and China. The genus gets its name from the Greek ‘arachne’, meaning spider, because of its spider-like clusters of spore capsules.
This fern is rare in cultivation and certainly a must-have for the fern enthusiast.

Expert Tip
The pale lime green variegation on the fronds, unusual for a fern, makes it a great choice to add brightness to a woodland garden or shaded border.
Care & Size Guidance
Arachnoides simplicior ‘Variegata’ is extremely hardy, but late to get going in Spring, often producing new growth around June. Around when new growth begins, it’s best to start guarding against slugs and snails.
Plants well wrapped and arrived in great condition. Very happy and will use the Palm Centre again with confidence.

My fern arrived safely and well packaged. It didnt seem to suffer in transit as some plants sadly do (like with a company that rhymes with buttons). APC, your chosen courier, handled the quick delivery really well. I will certainly buy other ferns from The Palm Centre in the future. Well done!
