Achillea ‘Terracotta’

Yarrow 'Terracotta'

Achillea ‘Terracotta’ is a spreading, mat-forming cultivar of common yarrow which is noted for its deeply-dissected, fern-like, aromatic, medium green foliage and its tiny, long-lasting, warm dusky orange flowers which appear in dense, flattened, compound heads throughout the summer, eventually fading to soft yellow.

Achillea ‘Terracotta’ perfectly complements sedums and other late-flowering perennials at the front of a dry, sunny border. The form of this plant makes it equally at home when planted en masse in a mixed ‘Prairie’ style planting, traditional cottage garden or Mediterranean themed garden.

Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

Achillea ‘Terracotta’ is a hardy perennial that grows up to 150cm in height with a spread of about 50cm, forming clumps of fern-like, grey-green foliage. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating poor or sandy soils and drought once established. Ideal for borders, cottage gardens, or wildflower meadows, it requires minimal care.

Water sparingly and avoid overwatering, as it dislikes soggy conditions. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage prolonged flowering from summer to autumn. In late autumn, cut back stems to the base for a tidy appearance. Achillea ‘Terracotta’ is perfect for low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly, and sunny garden spaces.
