Echinacea ‘Sunseekers® Red’
An compact, upright, clump forming herbaceous perennial, well loved by pollinators. Low maintenance and fairly drought tolerant when established.
It’s an essential for a sunny border, especially when mixed with grasses or other flowering perennials.
The Echinacea genus is a diverse group of herbaceous perennials in the daisy family.
Originating in the prairies of North America, the coneflower has found its way into cultivation, both because of its attractive flowers but also for its medicinal use.
Some species of Echinacea exhibit immunostimulant properties, and are promoted for prevention and treatment of, among others, colds and influenza.
Care & Size Guidance
Plant in the middle of the border, alongside other flowering perennials and grasses.
Water once a week in the first season to allow the plant to establish. Fertilise with a balanced fertiliser or top up the area with a light layer of fresh compost in autumn.
Cut back in fall, once the flowering season has ended.
