COR-TEN
Corten (or more correctly, COR-TEN) is an alloy steel which weathers to a beautiful rusted finish without compromising the structure of the planter.
Corten steel was developed in the 1930’s in the USA when the United States Steel Corporation patented a steel alloy for use in railroad carriages.
When exposed to the elements, Corten steel forms a protective coating through a process called weathering. This is what results in the attractive russet finish which has made them so popular.
Arrived promptly and well packaged.
Haven’t had a chance to plant them up yet but the quality and finish looks and feels great. No excessive rust rub off. There is a decent size drainage hole in the centre which wasn’t specified on the product description but helpful to know. I will be ordering more!
