Plant Biography
Bengal Figs are the national tree of India, and in their native habitat can grow to over 30m tall and up to 200m wide! Luckily they are easily kept to a manageable size in containers through pruning. For many this tree is sacred, as it is seen as the tree under which Buddha received enlightenment. Other common names include Banyan Tree and Strangler Fig – the latter because of the impressive aerial roots developed as it matures.

Position in a bright spot but avoid harsh direct sunlight. This species does not require additional humidity but keep out of the way of heat sources or draughts.
Ficus ‘Audrey’ can get big eventually, but is easily maintained by annual pruning once it reaches your desired height. Like most indoor plants it would benefit from application of indoor fertiliser during the brighter months.
