Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

Unlike some palms suited for keeping indoors, Parlour Palms wont quickly take over the space they’re placed in due to their slow growing nature. What’s more, whilst they can grow up to a mighty 8 foot tall outdoors in their natural environment, their ultimate height grown indoors in the UK is a more manageable 4 foot.

Whilst they thrive best in bright indirect light, one of the appealing factors of a Chamaedorea elegans is how well it can still survive in shade and dry air, making it a brilliant gift for novice plant owners.

In milder locations C. elegans can potentially even be kept outdoors, surviving down to -6C or lower under evergreen canopy when given sufficient wrapping to protect the leaves.

Arrived looking fantastic and in great condition. We are struggling a bit to keep it looking its best but hopefully will get the watering or light right for it soon

When my plant arrived a day later than ‘tracking’ said it looked as if it had been re-packaged and badly. The box was too small, the leaves were bent over and a couple were broken. It was given to me upside down (no “this way up” on the box). Amazingly the plant, being a very healthy specimen, has made a good recovery and is beautiful.

Reply from The Palm Centre: Thanks for the feedback and we’re glad to hear the plant has recovered. In any future occasion where you are unsatisfied with the plant and/or delivery, please do get in touch with us directly in the first instance to see if we can resolve the issue.

Lovely looking parlour palm, in really good condition and very bushy. Unfortunately, we ordered the 85-90cm plant but it only measures 67cm at a push.

Palm Centre reply: We’re sorry the plant that was delivered to you was not up to expected standard. Upon further discussions with our colleagues in Customer Support, we found out that the wrong plant was delivered to you and my colleagues have taken the necessary actions to fix the mistake.
