Care & Size Guidance

Aeonium arboreum ‘Atropurpureum’ thrives in a well-draining potting mix with bright, indirect light or full sun for the best colouration. As a potted plant, it typically reaches 60–90 cm tall (sometimes taller), forming branching rosettes of deep purple leaves. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry between waterings, especially in winter when growth slows. Protect from frost, as it prefers temperatures above 10°C.

Repot every few years to refresh the soil and accommodate growth. Prune leggy stems to encourage a bushier habit. Feeding with a diluted cacti and succulent fertiliser in spring and summer promotes healthy development.
