Plant Biography
The Mexican Fan Palm is a tall, vigorous palm that quickly grows a stout trunk, albeit thinner than its sister species Washingtonia filifera. Widely grown worldwide, the Skyduster is probably most familiar from the avenue plantings in California. Trunks are topped by a crown of large (1.5m wide or more) fan leaves that have loose threaded margins and often a purplish brown patch at the base of the leaf stalk – another feature lacking in Washingtonia filifera. Although often scorched by frost below around -5C or so Washingtonia robusta quickly regrows when the weather improves and replaces the damaged leaves.
Care & Size Guidance
Although tender to frost when young, Washingtonia robusta acquires hardiness with age. Mature plants can now be seen growing throughout the milder regions of the U.K.
Responds well to regular feeding with a palm fertiliser from April to September.

Purchased this tree last week, came well packaged. Bigger than I first thought but looks brilliant especially for the price. Looking forward to seeing it grow over the years! Great product, great service.

Bought one of these in a 40L pot. Great customer service & got a full refund on my delivery cost as I never received it the next day, I received it the following day on Saturday. The tree was well-packaged, and once unwrapped absolutely beautiful. Ive got it in my front garden and am delighted. Fantastic place to buy your item from.

When I purchased these for my wife birthday it clearly stated I would receive a free pot. This remained clear throughout my ordering process. However once I clicked and paid the pot offer disappeared. When I received the plants there was no pot. I contacted the palm centre but they couldnt care less. I shall never buy from them again as I will not do business with a company that negates on their offer. BEWARE!
