Plant Biography

The Echinacea genus is a diverse group of herbaceous perennials in the daisy family.

Originating in the prairies of North America, the coneflower has found its way into cultivation, both because of its attractive flowers but also for its medicinal use.

Some species of Echinacea exhibit immunostimulant properties, and are promoted for prevention and treatment of, among others, colds and influenza.

While in the flowering season, remove periodically the dead flowers to encourage new flowers to form.
