Eucalyptus gunnii ‘Azura’
cider gum tree, eucalyptus
£49.95
Eucalyptus gunnii is a hardy attractive evergreen from Australia, which can be coppiced annually, resulting in rounded young foliage, or left as is to quickly form a large tree with beautiful peeling bark and creamy white pompom summer flowers.
The recently introduced variety, ‘Azura’ is even more silvery-white in colour than the straight species, and the young leaves particularly are prized by florists and flower arrangers.

Plant Biography
Eucalyptus gunnii was one of the first Eucalyptus trees to be grown in the UK, and is also one of the largest and fastest growing.
Young leaves are formed rounded and clasp the stem attractively, which is a phase of growth that can be prolonged almost indefinitely by coppicing the stems annually.
Allowed the space and headroom, ‘Azura’ grows to be a large, evergreen, open crowned tree with long, sickle shaped leaves and attractively mottled bark. Clusters of creamy white pompom flowers add to its interest in summer.
